Improved protection for domestic violence victims
Summary:
People leaving another state or territory to escape an abusive relationship will have their protections carried with them into South Australia under laws passed by State Parliament yesterday.

The Intervention Orders (Prevention of Abuse) (Recognition of National Domestic Violence Orders) Amendment Bill ensures South Australian courts and police can automatically enforce domestic violence protection orders made in any other Australian state or territory.
