New General Code of Practice Guidelines

In October 2012, Cabinet approved the General Code of Practice after undertaking significant public consultation.

This Code includes measures relating to minors, promoting a responsible attitude towards the consumption of liquor, drink spiking, intoxication, disorderly or offensive behaviour, disturbances, risk assessment and staff training.

The General Code of Practice will apply from 18 January 2013 and has replaced the Code of Practice previously in force.

Guidelines have been developed to assist licensees to comply with the new General Code Of Practice:

Comprehenive information for licencees can be found at the Consumer and Business Services website.
