Statutes Amendment (SACAT No 2) Bill 2015
Summary:
The Statutes Amendment (SACAT No 2) Bill 2015 will confer a further series of functions on the new South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT). Comment is invited on the Bill, closing 28 August 2015.

On 30 March 2015, the new South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (SACAT) commenced operation.  SACAT is taking on functions over a series of stages, commencing operation initially with stage one jurisdictions, which included functions of the former Residential Tenancies Tribunal, Guardianship Board and Housing Appeals Panel. SACAT will commence operation of stage two jurisdictions at a later date, yet to be determined.

A draft Bill, the Statutes Amendment (SACAT No 2) Bill 2015 (the Bill), has now been prepared to confer stage three jurisdictions upon SACAT.  These are predominantly functions of the Equal Oppurtunity Tribunal, as well as some functions of the Administrative and Disciplinary Division of the District Court, Magistrates Court and Supreme Court. Please see the draft Bill for the complete range of functions proposed to be conferred by the Bill.

Comment is now invited on the Bill.  Please submit your feedback in writing by close of business Friday, 28 August 2015 to:
